Ashley Fox, MP for Bridgwater, has thanked residents across the constituency for taking part in his inaugural Summer Village Tour, which saw him visit 15 villages over three days to meet directly with local people.

From Over Stowey to Othery, many residents turned out to share their views on local and national issues, raise concerns, and hear more about Ashley’s work in Parliament and the constituency. The informal drop-in sessions offered a chance for direct dialogue and gave residents an accessible way to speak to their MP in their own community.

Ashley Fox said, “It was fantastic to be out on the road visiting so many villages across the constituency. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who took the time to come and speak with me. Whether the concern was about rural policing, local bus routes, planning issues, or national politics, the conversations I had were thoughtful and constructive. I’ll be following up on the matters raised and continuing to speak up for our rural communities in Westminster”

He added, “Thank you also to the local volunteers and village hall teams who helped make the visits possible.”

The Summer Village Tour included stops in Over Stowey, Fiddington, Combwich, Cannington, Durleigh, West Huntspill, Pawlett, Woolavington, Bawdrip, Puriton, Goathurst, Lyng, North Newton, Broomfield, and Othery.

Ashley said that he plans to repeat the tour next year. He will continue holding regular visits to our towns and villages, alongside his regular constituency surgeries, throughout the year.
