Ashley Fox MP Launches Annual Competition to Crown Bridgwater & Burnham's Favourite Independent Shops for 2026

Ashley Fox MP has officially launched a 2026 competition to find Bridgwater & Burnham’s Favourite Independent Shops. Residents are encouraged to nominate their most-loved local shops, which will be shortlisted for a public vote.

With 16 categories available for nominations this year, there is a wide array of local businesses that can be recognised, including:

· Beauty, Pampering and Wellness

· Café

· Children and Babies

· Clothing and Accessories

· Craft and Hobby

· Farm and Produce

· Food and Drink

· Garden Good/Garden Centre

· Gifts and Stationery

· Homeware

· Music and Records

· Pharmacy

· Surf 'n' Turf (Butcher or Fishmonger)

· Village Shop

· Tourist Accommodation

· Other

Nominations are open now and will close on Sunday 8th March. After the nomination period ends, a shortlist of the top shops will be compiled and voting will begin, running from Monday 16th March to Sunday 5th April. The winners will be announced on Friday 10th April.
