Bridgwater MP Ashley Fox visited Pyne’s of Somerset in North Petherton, meeting members of the team behind the farm-shop, butchery, delicatessen and takeaway business.
The visit gave him a first-hand look at the preparations underway for the busy Christmas season, and a chance to speak with staff about how the shop serves the local community.
Pyne’s of Somerset, established in 1984, sources meats and produce from trusted local farmers, emphasising animal welfare and short food miles, and prides itself on offering "quality, service & craftsmanship". They offer a wide range of fresh meats as well as fresh fish, deli items and takeaway meals, giving customers the option to prepare festive dinners or enjoy ready-made meals.
During the visit Ashley Fox praised the shop’s commitment to local sourcing and high-quality produce, saying: “Shops like Pyne’s show what makes our villages and towns special with a great service and food you can trust back to the farm. At Christmas especially, it’s the kind of quality families look for when buying their festive meat.”
He urged residents to consider doing their Christmas meat shopping at Pyne’s or their nearest independent butcher. “Every purchase supports local jobs, local farmers and helps keep our towns and villages alive,” he said.
Ashley Fox promised to continue championing independent traders and small businesses across the constituency.
