Dear Somerset Council,
I am writing to call for urgent investment to improve safety at Cross Rifles Roundabout in Bridgwater.
This roundabout is often congested and there are ongoing safety concerns regarding the positioning of the pedestrian crossings, which are too close to the roundabout. Too often this layout results in near misses, and increases the risk of collisions between vehicles and pedestrians.
Despite previous funding being made available for improvements, no changes were delivered at Cross Rifles, leaving a well-known issue unresolved.
I am asking the Council to urgently bring forward proposals to improve safety, with a particular focus on the location and design of the pedestrian crossings.
